I recently got over the awkwardness and finally followed through on a long-standing idea — I launched a YouTube channel. I’ve always wanted to show and talk about approaches to development without clickbait thumbnails and headlines, to stay on point and pass my experience along to other people.
On Saturday, May 27, and the following Saturday, June 3, my channel ran two streams — six and five hours long. Joining me were my coworkers Alexey and German. We designed and built a prototype of an internal DBaaS. And it was great!
To stay focused, we used a pomodoro timer. I want to keep that practice on every stream: 25 minutes of focused work, 5-minute break — useful not only for the hosts but for the viewers too.
Long marathon streams are hard to host, and hard to watch. So after talking it over with the team, we decided to add other formats too. We’ll pick a time during the work week and try out a few shorter streams, most likely in the evening. Even though we’re all in different parts of the planet, stream time will be Moscow time.
I’d be glad to see you among the viewers and subscribers! I’ll post announcements in the telegram channel:
And the streams themselves on YouTube:
